End of an era…

Yesterday was Joep’s final show. And damn, what a show it was. I’ll see if I can upload some video, but until then you’ll have to do it with this description:

“The place was packed. Lots of confetti. Party hats. Joep in an Elvis suit. A disco ball. Joost wearing a princess crown. Stef wearing a furry pig head costume. Picture slideshow on a beamer (about 10 years of pictures). Joep smashing a (prepared, we’re not that rich!) bass to pieces to give him the feeling of a true rockstar. A long set. A good old “pull-and-push” mosh pit, sing-alongs, dives. Throw some some injuries (one guy even had to be brought to the hospital to get some stiches) in the mix and you know it was a crazy show. ”

Needless to say, I think I can speak for all of us (including Joep) that we had a blast. It sucks to see him go, but atleast he went out with a bang. Thanks to all of you for showing up and giving him a great goodbye. He loved it. As did we. Big time.

I’m pretty sure this isn’t the last we have seen of Joep though. If we ever need a substitute bassplayer, we know where to find him. And he still owes us some free burgers anyway 😉
