Last week Stef and Line became the proud parents of a little boy: Ferre.

He was born on Monday the 9th of August (the day after our show in Hengelo that Stef didn’t play) at 10:54 in the morning. Awesome. We wish all three of them all the best of course. Feel free to send them your congratulations or something.

Now for something completely different… Sjef, our friendly, lazy, our beer-drinking, pretending-to-be-roadie and most importantly friend was part of  a TV-show. Not your usual TV show either. It’s called Blootgewoon. (Bloot means nude, gewoon means usual/regular) With a couple of friends they posed nude. Why they hell would you do that? (The same question we asked). Apparently it’s for a good cause. The program is going to make a calendar and with the sales of that calendar they support good causes. In the case of Sjef and their friends it’s the Reuma foundation. A good friend of theirs is suffering from it and this way they hope to help a bit (and give it some attention at least). He wore a Said And Done shirt (at the end of the program, earlier on you can spot him in a Tenement Kids and a Backfire! shirt) too. Such a good boy.

First of all, Sunday (tomorrow) we’re playing the Innocent in Hengelo (NL). We’ll be celebrating 25 years of Innocent. That’s quite a milestone. I’ve seen so many cool shows over there and we played some  great shows ourselves (Light The Fuse fest, Earth Crisis, Merauder etc. etc.) at that place.  No to mention it’s run by some amazing people too. Big shout out to Serge and co. It’s going to be a special show anyway. Icepick is doing a final show and you all know you want to see that (also releasing their last 7″). Bitter End is playing (Will they be doing that Only Living Witness intro again?), New Morality, etc. etc… We figured, since it’s a party and we’re playing the Innocent again next month (Come see us with Blacklisted and This Routine Is Hell) we should do something different this time. So we’re going to play mostly covers. If you saw us throughout the years you kinda now what covers to expect, but there’s one surprise in there. ”You are all pawns. Devil or angel, come on over and do the twist. Memories of the times you had, just uncomfortable“.

There’s also some big non-band news, that’s actually band-related. Stef (& Line) are expecting a baby anyday now. Yes, Stef’s going to be a daddy. Can you imagine? While that is great news it also means that it’s quite possible that Stef isn’t playing with us in Hengelo. No worries, we asked Goran (from Make Them Suffer) to step in, in case that’s needed. More about him later, but it’s not the last time you’ll be seeing him on stage with us.

Ok, that’s all this weekend, but we’ve got more cool shows lined up. As mentioned above we’re playing with Blacklisted next month, but there’s more: a trip to the UK again and playing our friends Strike First their last show in November and early next year we’re playing with Supertouch in Germany. From 25th of March / 3rd of April we’re planning to head over to Denmark / Sweden / Finland with Upright (Finland), but more about that later. If you wanna hook us up feel free to get in touch. If zines are your thing, we had some interview published recently: Cudown Lata (Polish / The Wonder Years (English) features an interview with me about Said And Done and Some Will Never Know etc. Get it in our distro. There’s also an interview in the second issue of Spanish zine The Chapter, but I haven’t seen the final result of that yet. If you do a zine, you can always get in touch. That’s all for now. It’s August. Vacation time you know. In the meantime we’re mainly writing new songs for a full length. But there’s not much I can tell you about that yet.

But… Takeo from Positive Outlook recently opened up an online hardcore merch store in the land of the ninja’s and has some of our merch for sale over there.
He already put some of the stuff up there, but there’s more to come. So keep an eye out for that.

To introduce the Japanese people to the band we made a special promo CD-R (as seen above) that has two tracks of every record we did so far. It’s unavailable elsewhere.

Pretty cool to see our stuff reaching out that far.

We’ll be back in November. We’re playing Canterbury on Sunday the 7th of November. More info on that show later, you’ll want to be there though. … (Weight Of The World) sees the band continuing to improve upon their unique style of hardcore. The driving midpaced rhythms and sincere vocals (which combine a gruff edge with vague hints of actual singing) are still the driving force, but there are a few more tempo changes happening this time around – lending both a little more crunch as well as a little more melody to the songwriting. There are a lot of quick little lead riffs going on, and the basslines feel more active here as well, which is always a plus and makes perfect sense given the band’s solid sense of groove. It’s the vocals that really give the material a different energy than a lot of what’s out there, though, and that makes a huge difference for me. I guess European hardcore bands still tend to fall on the underrated side of things, ’cause if Said and Done was from the US and signed to a label like Deathwish Inc. or something, I can’t help but think more people would be all over this shit… – Andrew (Aversionline.com (USA) – May 2010)

It’s out. Being able to hold your new record in your own hands. It’s a damn good feeling. Still. Every time.

But no time to enjoy that. We’re gearing up for our trip this weekend. We’ll be releasing this record in the UK, doing 3 shows with Never Again. As I’m typing this Stef is picking up the van. I’m taking caring of the release/trip covers we’ll have with us etc. Lots of stuff to do still. We’re stoked to get back to Newport and Nottingham and it will be our first time in London. Teaming up with the nice clean cut straight edge dudes of Never Again is something we’re looking forward to too. And the best thing? At the moment there are no last-minute cancellations. That’s a first time I think? You can be proud of yourself UK, haha. Let’s hope it stays that way.

So what’s coming up next?

• The “Weight Of The World” 7″ got delayed. We had hoped to have it with us on our trip but because of major delays at the pressing plant it’s still not ready. The last we heard was a shipping date of 7 April. That means it gets shipped to the UK on that date. Hopefully it will be ready not much later. Sorry for the delays people, this one was completely out of our (or the label’s) hands. We made sure it was all there on time. To anyone that wants to get, but didn’t pre-order it yet, pre-orders are still online (because of the delay) but not for long. Get with the program @ http://ctwrecords.bigcartel.com/ oh and sign up for their board too.

• We’ve got a nice weekend coming up in April. On Saturday the 10th of April we’re going back to Wijhe. We played there in 2007 and had a blast. We’re playing with Strike First, Cornered and To The Test, so that’s going to be a party without a doubt. I think Final Stand is playing a short set in their new line-up too. The next day we’re playing Aarle-Rixtel, closing off the fourth edition of the Easter Breakdown Fest together with Make Them Suffer, State Of Affairs, To The Test (again) and Accept The Change. If a miracle happens we might have our new record with us, but don’t count on it.

• In May we’re hitting the UK again. This time we’ll be joined by Never Again, the newest straight edge sensation from the UK. We’re playing Alex B’s birthday party at our favorite venue in Wales, Le Pub on Friday. On the Saturday we’re hitting Nottingham again at The Central, made possible by the NGHC. On Sunday we’ll be in London for the first time @ the Grosvenor. Oh and even without a miracle we’ll probably have our new record with us. Groovy!
