Two new Finland bands teaming up. Upright and Foreseen, both bringing a hard NYHC sound, both bringing great riffs, yet both sound pretty different. Brand new band from Uppsala the Swedish head capital of trash and spacerock. Agent Attitude brings you fast, catchy snotty 80's hardcore similar to Minor Threat, Black Flag or Gorilla Biscuits. Released in 300 copies on black by Green Menace Records (check that label out people!) together with Monument Records (SWE).

It's not rare these days that bands do reunions. But only a couple really blew me away. Even less came out with new material. Supertouch released one hell of a 7" and it's probably going to be right at the top of my list of favorite records of 2011. They've recorded material that was written during the Better period. They just picked up where they left, only with a way better production this time around.

There should be more where this came from, let's just hope they'll be recording more and will come back to Europe, because those shows were amazing. For now we'll have to do with the memories and this 7".

Picked these up at the final show we played with them last weekend. Icepick was as good as ever. Gotta love that band. Or as the label puts it:

Take a trip to memory lane in Dutch hardcore and reminisce one of the most promising bands from the Netherlands in the last decade. It was 2003 when a young band called Icepick put out a demo on Discontent Records. The 5 songs inspired by bands like Cro Mags, Bad Brains and the Icemen turned many people’s head. I still remember setting up a show in a small pub and the weeks before you could feel the tension rising and before Icepick struck their first note, you knew the place would explode. Numerous shows throughout Europe followed and meanwhile the band got picked up by Not Just Words Records for their debut CD ‘Goldrush’. This simply was the perfect follow up to their amazing demo. Some more Icemen and later-era Cro Mags influences were thrown in the mix, and all songs were delivered with so much precision, the harsh riffs, precious drum fills, the guitarsolos and the honest lyrics, you just had to bang your head to this one… ‘Goldrush’ got alot positive feedback and Icepick again played all over Europe. And then things got silent.

Until 2010 when a show in the Innocent, Hengelo (NL) was announced. Then on some trip to the UK, singer Emiel also noticed that there were 2 songs still unreleased, that Icepick would love to get out. Of course The Limit Records was very eager to do this job, so here we go.

After the "Constant Struggle" LP and after the "Burden of Empire" 7" (and it's thousands of variations), Iron Age is back with a new 7". "The Way Is Narrow" features the title-track on the A-side, A Leeway/early Metallica kinda song which you probably already heard on their Myspace, and a cover of a Flower Travelling Band (Japan's answer to Black Sabbath) song on the B-side.

Continuing where their ‘Rising’ 7” on Crucial Attack records left off this 12” record features eighteen tracks of raging insanity influenced by the likes of Voorhees, Fear, SS Decontrol, some Kill ‘Em All-era Metallica and a little bit of Motörhead.

2006 full length debut by Said And Done on Shield Recordings. For fans of NY styled oldschool hardcore like they played it in the 80's. Keywords: Cro Mags, Leeway, Crown of Thornz, Maximum Penalty, Beowulf, Bad Brains etc.
