Joost going into the distance

As promised I would put up a post with more info about Joost temporary departure, here we go:

Joost, the dude I started jamming with back in ’99 played his last show with Said And Done for a while in Belgium with us, the last minute show at the really cool Moshvalley fest. Luckily enough it’s only for half a year, he’ll be back in February 2009. Here’s what he has to say about it:

Hey guys,

As part of my study Logistics and Economics I’m going to study abroad in Taiwan. They call it a minor. I will follow 6 different subject at the National Sun Yat-sen University in Kaohsiung.

I want to experience how it is to live and study in a different country. I hope to improve my speaking and writing capabilities in English. Aside from that it’s very good for my personal development.

It was very difficult for me to make this decision, because Said And Done is a very big part of my life. They are my friends, my music mates 🙂 And the thing is, without a drummer it’s impossible for them to move on. I’m very happy that they reacted really positive anyway when when I told them the news.

Don’t worry though. Now with Henri on drums Said And Done will not slow down, they’ll be just the same as when I’m on drums.

I know I’m going to miss this the next half year. I saw these people twice a week most of the time, sometimes more.

That’s all there is to tell right now.

Take care,
Joost

I’m going to push him to send out some updates on his stay now and then. For now he’s going to finish writing the new songs with us and record them right before he leaves. We’re going to miss that dude.

Like you can read from Joost up above, we’ve already got a replacement lined-up. Meet Henri, the current drummer of Maaswater Veenlijk (check them out!):

Meet Henri
We know Henri for a long time now and Remco even played in a band with him years ago. He went along for the ride on our European trip and he did blend right in. We’re really glad he’s willing to take over the drum sticks for the upcoming period. We rehearsed a couple of times now and things are right on schedule, we’ll use the rest of the summer to learn him all the songs so we can blast ahead full speed again.

Get in touch if you want us to play (after the summer). We’re just back but we can’t wait to get things rolling again.

Last-minute show at moshvalley

We’ll be replacing Fast Point from the UK tomorrow @ Moshvalley Fest in Belgium.

That line-up isn’t up-to-date anymore though, for more info check:

Hope to see you there!

Flex your head, airplay in canada

Flex Your Head is not only the name of a great compilation album, it’s also a Vancouver-based hardcore and punk radio program broadcasting weekly since 1989 on CiTR 101.9fm.

This week Mike played a track of Endless Roads on his show, “Empty Soul”. You can check out an MP3/Podcast of it right here. So if you didn’t hear that track yet, now is your chance.

The tracklist of this week includes bands like Trapped Under Ice, Shipwreck, Meltdown and Alpha And Omega. So you’re not going to regret downloading that MP3.

New interview up

I guess I’ll try to post up here more often instead of a long update once a month or something. So here we go:

Rold just posted an interview he did with us this week at his blog, A Riot Of My Own. Go check it out at:

It also has interviews with Have Heart, Good Riddance, Paint It Black and some reviews (Birds Of A Feather, Atlas Losing Grip (new Shield Recordings band!). Coming up are interviews with No Turning Back, Verse, The Loved Ones, Birds X Of A Feather and Room 13. So keep your eyes on that site.

In other news we’ll write a report on our trip through Eruope as soon as possible (it might end up at lifersmontreal.com, so keep an eye on that site) and we’re currently finishing some new songs that we’ll probably record at the end of August before Joost leaves for half a year. I’ll dedicate a post to him leaving somewhere this week I guess.
