Blog

December is a busy month

No this is not the usual annual reflection (I’ll do that in the new year) or a ‘best wishes everyone’ (you know we wish you all the best). But before we leave for our weekend trip I’ll let you all in on what’s going on currently in S&D world:

First of all we got a message at the end of November / early December letting us know that our planned studio time (29/30/31 Januari) for the “Weight Of The World” EP wasn’t going to work. Luckily we could reschedule (thanks to Nico and Cheating Death for helping us out here!). They’re now spread over 3 separate dates and pushed forward 2 weeks. Nothing big, we’ll just have to shift gears a bit. We’ll still be done in time for the European trip.

Then we got notice from Joep last week that he couldn’t do the release weekend (the one we’re leaving for tomorrow) because of job issues. It’s not his fault or anything, but it sucks. So we had to drop working on the new songs and find a replacement fast. Enter our saviour Rick. You’ll more about him later, all you need to know for now is that we focused entirely on learning him the songs for this weekend. And he managed to do just that, so give the dude some credit.

Aside from that there were final preparations to be done for the “Feel It” EP that we’re releasing this weekend. The last couple of days have been spend finishing and printing the lyric sheets, programming the download system and printing the download cards and stuff like that. Oh and there was a van to be picked up and between all of that we had some regular work to do too.

So in case you wondering why we didn’t mail you back yet about your pre-order (still a couple of copies left by the way)… We just didn’t have the time yet (the same reason my Some Will Never Know #2 zine is pushed back for an early 2010 release). They’re all noted though, no worries. After this weekend we’ll get to all of you as soon as possible. And I would like to take this opportunity to say, once again, thanks to you guys (& girls) for the support. It’s appreciated.

But in the end it all comes down to the shows this weekend. We’re hoping to close off the year with a bang, so we hope to see all of you there:

First up is JUHA, Rosswein:

We only heard good stuff about JUHA and we’re siked to see Michael (Greyli) again. Awesome dude.

Sunday we’re hitting Aachen again, to play with our friends in Goldust and World Gone Mad:

Come on over and do the twist.

Feel It EP pre-orders up now!

It’s December now and like we promised last month, pre-orders for the “Feel It” E.P. have just gone up.

Feel It EP preorders up now

Brought to you by My Fist Your Face Records from Germany.

So what’s the deal?

Limited to 200 pieces of vinyl in total.
50 of those will be pre-order editions (with linol print).
50 of those will be “Germany-themed” (haha) release editions.
100 of those will be regular editions.

All of them will include a downloadcode, so you can enjoy it on your PC/Mac, iPod or whatever too. Although we recommend portable record players, just to look cool.

Pre-orders will be shipped after the release weekend (see below).

GET IT

We’ve put up the preorders in our online distro (also including zines, selected vinyl, S&D merchandise etc):

http://www.saidanddone.org/distro/preorders/
http://www.saidanddone.org/distro/preorders/
http://www.saidanddone.org/distro/preorders/

There’s a “pre-order” + “regular” edition package up too that includes free shipping to the Netherlands / Germany.

Orders from Germany will be shipped from Germany. Orders from the Netherlands will be shipped from the Netherlands. Makes us look like a multinational isn’t it? But just pick up whatever you want from the distro, we’ll make sure the label gets that stuff as well.

December update

Time for a fresh update from the S&D camp:

NEW RELEASES

FEEL IT 7″

In December Joost and I (Pim) are jamming for 10 years already. Time flies. To celebrate this we’ll be releasing the 3 song promo tape on vinyl as the “Feel It” EP. “My Fist, Your Face” Records from Germany approached us to make a limited edition of 200. There will be no represses. Nico re-mastered the songs for the vinyl edition, free downloadcards will be included. Pre-orders will go up early December. Keep an eye on our website.

We’ll be releasing the record in December when we’re doing a German Blitzkrieg weekend:

SATURDAY 26TH OF DECEMBER
@ JUHA, Rosswein /w Born From Pain, Another Breath, Turn Away & Way Down

SUNDAY 27TH OF DECEMBER
@ AZ, Aachen /w Goldust & World Gone Mad

SHIELD RECORDINGS: 5 YEAR SAMPLER

Shield Recordings, who released “Everyday” and “Endless Roads” are celebrating their 5 year anniversary in December. To celebrate this they’re releasing a sampler, including two of our (previously released) tracks. Go pick it up because there are some damn good bands on that disc. On to another 5 years Gert-Jan and Fieke, keep this up!

WEIGHT OF THE WORLD 7″

A bit farther away, but not that much: At the end of January we’ll be locking ourselves away again with Nico van Montfort. We’ll be recording a couple of new songs for a 7″ on “Carry The Weight Records” from England. Estimated release-date is February. Right in time for the following trip we’re planning:

MARCH 2010 EURO TRIP

In March 2010 we’ll be hitting the road again. At the moment the plan is to hit the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain and Portugal in this period. As always though we’re open to anything, so get in touch.

SATURDAY 13TH OF MARCH until SUNDAY 21TH OF MARCH

6 persons. We’ll be having our own backline with us.

If you can help us out, get in touch!

NEW WEBSITE, NEW MERCH

You might already have seen it, but we launched a new website not too long ago. We’ve added another layer of communication by adding comment functionality. Talk to us.

Aside from various zines and selected records and tapes (we like it oldschool) we added some new S&D merch to the distro. Zipped hoodies, longsleeves, shirts. The works. Design is done by our friend Sieb (www.siebdesign.nl – hire him!) . Check our distro for a bigger version of his drawing. Dude’s awesome.

Guess that’s all for now. We’ll be back in December. Stay classy internet people.

PS > Check out Ignorance Is Strength, LIFERS, Heat, Effort, At Both Ends, Twisted Wrongs & Crooked Rights, Just Say Yo, Milkshake, Malfunction, Against The Haze etc. etc. etc. Read. Support zines.
