Non-breaking news…

Just a short roundup on what’s happening lately, for anyone not following us on Twitter:

After Joost took his back his spot behind the drums, everything is pretty much about writing new songs at the moment. We’ve got some good stuff cooking. We might throw bits and pieces in here and there at the upcoming shows, we’ll see. While we’re talking about shows. This Saturday (21st of March) Joost will play his first show with us again. It’s the Shield Showcase @ The Stage in Arnhem. Be there and be sure to check out Antillectual, Smash The Statues and The Hunger amongst others. Good stuff.

Since we had our own little S&D viewing we went through our tapes and uploaded some crappy videos to Youtube. At the end of Henri’s last show we played a couple of covers, since it was a pretty special occasion. You can check out “Life Of My Own” and “Hard Times” right here. The video ends with “Into The Distance”. An other (old) video we uploaded is the one from our show in Wijhe back in 2007. Such a fun show. Maybe more to come.

Some time ago Mass Movement Magazine (UK) did an interview with us. It’s now featured on their website. It’s pretty lengthy and goes pretty indepth into the lyrics. We like to do interviews, so if you’re doing a zine (especially paper zines!) get in touch!

So now we’re on Twitter, Hyves, Myspace. We’re communicating like crazy. What’s next? Facebook ofcourse. Get connected.

To close it off, we’re almost out of our current shirts. Time to come up with some new designs… We’re working on it and we should have new stuff for all of you in… April? Keep an eye on our distro. Also if you’re interested in zines, we keep adding new ones from all over the world.

That’s all for now. Keep listening to the Bad Brains.

No more henri, more joost

Last friday, in his hometown, in a small bar, we played our final show with Henri. It was really cool to say the least. The atmosphere of the entire night was great, all the bands played were cool but most importantly it was a great way to say goodbye to Henri.

We had such a good time with him on drums. From the first time he came along (as a friend / roadie) during our Eurotrip last year and all the shows we played with him until last friday… It has been golden. We couldn’t have wished for a better replacement. So needless to say we’re really thankful he was welling to step in when Joost went away to study in Taiwan.

For now we’ll just wish him all the luck with his own band “Maaswater Veenlijk” (Check it out people, it’s great stuff!). We hope we didn’t see the last of him.

If I’ll have time I might upload a video from the last part of the set, where we played some covers and ended the show with Into The Distance.

While it’s strange to see Henri go we’re of course siked to have Joost back on drums. Full speed ahead.

Twitter?

You probably heard about it by now, Twitter. It’s been around for some time but I never really saw a use for it. Well times are changing, so let’s give it a try. Adding another layer of communication.

For anyone not in the known, Twitter is for short status updates. Just to send out short news blurbs without having to write a whole blog post / news article. Check it out.

Home and away

He’s back. Last Thursday Joost did set foot on Dutch soil again. We already jammed a bit last Friday and we were pretty amazed by the fact that he didn’t lose his touch, at all. Dude still knows how to handle the kit.

Anyway, we’re going to use the rest of January and February to get things running smoothly with him. So we’re not taking any more new shows for the rest of these two months. Show that are already booked will be played with Henri of course. Get in touch with us for shows for March and onwards.

Anyway. The 13th of February we’re going to say goodbye to Henri. We had an amazing time with him, so while we’re glad Joost is back we’re going to miss him for sure. His last show is going to take place in his hometown Boxmeer. Think it will be the first hardcore show at the venue, so we’ll see how this will play out. Joining us are Strike First, State Of Mind and Make Them Suffer. Should be a blast. Come join us.
